Games

Games are how the work gets taught, not how the period gets started.

Every game here has four parts: short rules, a level-up variation, debrief questions, and the access notes. Sorted by what the game is actually teaching, because that is how you pick one on a Tuesday when the plan just fell apart.

Time: [number] minutes · Whole group · Open floor

One sentence on what happens. Write it so a teacher who has never seen it can picture the room.

How to play

  1. Step one.
  2. Step two.
  3. Step three.

Level up

The variation you add once they have it. Harder, faster, or with a constraint.

Debrief

  • Question that points at the objective.
  • Question that points at the ensemble.
  • Question that points forward to the next thing.

Access

The quiet role, the seated version, the gesture-first entry point, and the opt-out path. Write this every time.

Use these, change them, and don't credit me if that's awkward at your school. If something here doesn't work in your room, email me and tell me why. That's how these get better.
